Sibanye-Stillwater is a multinational mining and metals processing group with a social impact vision to create value for all stakeholders through a long-term socio-economic development focus in host communities. In partnership with Project Isizwe, Sibanye-Stillwater is uplifting 12 schools in the Marikana area in South Africa’s North West province, with the aim to positively impact education by enabling internet access for learners and educators.
One of the world’s largest diversified natural resource companies, Glencore is a forerunner of coal and ferroalloys production in South Africa. With a deep commitment to the upliftment of the communities in which they operate, Glencore is partnered with Project Isizwe to deliver free WiFi to the mine workers and their families in Mpumalanga’s coal communities and the North West province’s ferroalloys communities.
48percent.org supports and facilitates solutions within the connectivity ecosystem. Their common goal to bridge the digital divide through equitable access to connectivity, has brought Project Isizwe and 48percent.org together. 48percent.org has funded the infrastructure for 20 affordable access hotspots in the community of Mpophomeni, in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, where users connect to the internet for R5 per device per day.
Seriti is a South African mining company focussed on the responsible production of high-quality coal-solutions to fuel the country’s power stations, dedicated to harnessing opportunities that create self-sustaining and empowered communities. Project Isizwe and Seriti have deployed 16 free WiFi hotspots in Mpumalanga, primarily at schools to impact on education and the development of portable skills training for youth.
The Futuregrowth Community Property Fund specialises in the acquisition of new and existing shopping centres that cater to the needs of underserved communities in rural areas and townships throughout South Africa. Recognising the social and economic necessity of internet access in these areas, the Fund has partnered with Project Isizwe to provide free WiFi for these citizens in their shopping centre communities.
Acciona is a global group that develops sustainable solutions that tackle the world’s most urgent challenges like global warming, energy needs and water shortages. Project Isizwe is partnered with the Sishen Solar Facility – Acciona’s largest photovoltaic plant in the world – to provide free WiFi to the families and citizens who live and work in the solar farm communities.
Blue Falcon 140’s Gouda Wind Farm is one of the largest of its kind in Southern Africa. In addition to providing a sustainable energy source for South Africa, Blue Falcon 140 and Project Isizwe have joined efforts to provide free WiFi to the community of Hermon, a small town that is home to the wind farm workers and their families.
SEACOM provides customers with access to the internet via its global-high speed data network. SEACOM is partnered with Project Isizwe in a dual capacity: as a service provider of industry learning fibre internet on numerous projects, as well as the sponsor of two implementation projects connecting two township communities to free WiFi.
Lebalelo Water Users Association is a public-private collaboration between the South African Department of Water and Sanitation and the commercial mining sector. Project Isizwe and Lebalelo Water Users Association have provisioned affordable, uncapped WiFi in the community of Burgersfort where more than 500 community members access 500GB of data each month.
Vuna Partners is a South African private equity investor focussed on cultivating wealth through partnership. Project Isizwe is partnering with Vuna Partners to bring the community of Smash Block in Thabazimbi online. The partnership seeks to enable uncapped internet access at R5 per day per device as a vehicle to connect the community to the internet as well as economically empowering entrepreneurship opportunities.
3 Bears Trading aims to educate, equip, connect and empower future generations to succeed by raising funds to pay for education and WiFi connectivity projects for the local Loskop schools in the Drakensberg. With Project Isizwe as the connectivity partner, the 3 Bears project provides educators and learners with free, uncapped WiFi, ensuring the educational benefits of the online world are equitably accessible to their project’s beneficiaries.
The Alpha Foundation supports the education and sports endeavours of young, underprivileged South Africans. Project Isizwe provides free connectivity to the Eyethu Mamello project, which focuses on creating opportunities for the community through empowerment, development, job creation and education. Each month almost 500 community members in Gauteng’s Vaal area have access to 500MB of daily free WiFi.
The Community Outreach Program Trust (COPT) operates community centres in South African townships to offer education, feeding, sport, cultural and spiritual services to citizens in these communities. Working with COPT, Project Isizwe has installed WiFi hotspots at two KwaZulu Natal community centres, in Clermont and Lamontville to further facilitate and enhance the services on offer to beneficiaries.
Inqaku provides South African Football Association soccer league fixtures, results and logs. In partnership with Project Isizwe, soccer players in the Eastern Cape’s Sea Vista community are able to access uncapped internet for R5 per day per device with the intention of driving up football player online registration and participation.

PROJECT ISIZWE (NPO Registration number 2013/146023/08) would like to inform you (the “data subject”) that we are committed to safeguarding your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information. In terms of Section 18 of the Protection of Personal Information Act No 4. of 2013 (“POPI”) with effect from 01 July 2021, we are obliged to provide you with information when collecting personal information from you.

Our Company’s IT Infrastructure as well as storage of physical records meets all acceptable security standards required to be POPI compliant.
Voluntary supply of your information:
The supply of information is voluntary and by you supplying us with your information, you are consenting to, and accepting our privacy policy.
